In a little village about 10 km from my home town lies a castle called Keverberg. In fact it's not a castle but the remains of a castle. Somehow somebody came up with the idea to rebuildt the remains into a usefull seminar and congresscentre, using steel and glass. I've got mixed feelings about this rebuilding project. I'm not blaming the hard working volunteers that try to buildt something beautifull. I mereley anoyed that there was no one with common sence that stopped these donkeys.

Today thare was a small festival in my hometown called Ä day in the park. Visitors come and bring food to have a picknick together while listening to live music. This nice VW T1 van was part of the surroundings. This well restored and well polished van cried out for some after editing to deepen the shining.

Last week of April, lots of motorcyclist gather in a small village near my hometown. They gather for the blessing of their motorcycles. Are they such strong believers ? I think that it's the first event of the year to push your motorbike out of the barn, and that's the real reason why so many show up. This year I descided to go and look for real characters. This shot reminded me of late Jim Croce's famous song. He gat a tottoo on his arm say "Baby" He's got another that just says "Hey" But on a sundayafternoon he's a dirt track demon in a '57 chevrolet.

Today I revisited LSP Nord in NRW Duisburg Germany. And had a 4 hrs shoot with collegue photographers. LSP nord is an old steelovenfactory that produced lots of steel. This Factory was founded in 1902 as The Rheinische Stahlwerke zu Meiderich bei Ruhrort" Lateron it was taken over by the Thyssengroup. The factory had major wardamage during the 2nd World War but it was rebuildt during the fifties. In 1985 the ovens where too small to compete and shut down. Between 1992 and 2002 the area was redesigned as an industrial parc and monument and therefore very popular with photographers like me.

Long time ago I was a singer in a folkband, allthough that's long ago, all the lyrics are still in my mind. Sometimes the atmosphere in a picture reminds me of a line in a song. Today I went for a walk through the city and had some drinks on a rooftop terrace of our music hall. On my way out I made this picture. This evening I tried to work with layars and found the written letter to suit best to the atmosphere. Immediatly my wife's fav song came to my mind so I added the lines.

Two days ago I stood on my balcony and saw what I thought was a caterpillar. I went to get my new wideangle lens en took this picture. Only on my flatscreen I discovered that there were strange legs coming out of this insect that gave it an alien look

Since I changed my gear from Fuji semi DSLR to a Nikon D80, and the world of RAW photography opened up for me, I gained interest in HDR photography. I probably made all the mistakes there are possible and got loads of critics from purists and people that simply didn’t like my editing. Of course some of them are right. And when I look back to my early HDR work I can’t imagine that there were times that I was satisfied with my own work. But as years go by, I learned a lot from colleages and by webinars. Nowaday I believe that some work suits HDR editing and some doesn’t.  This old street in Middelburg shot in the summer of 14 just cried out for HDR treatment. For it is near the sea I found queen’s songtitle fit the picture.

A customer asked me to deliver photographes of an event but they had to look if they were 70 years old. Yesterday I sharpened the pictures, converted them to black and white and filtered out noises in Lightroom and then gave them the right balance and a sepia look in Silver Efex 2.0. I still was not satisfied and wanted to age them even more. A lot of webinars could be found online but they all use photoshop and that's a program I don't use. I looked them anyway learned the technique and then searched for a program that could do it easier. So most of the day I searched for other solutions. This is one of the solutions I came up with.
